Print Communications Provides Full Service Solutions with
New Lettershop Facility and Personnel –
Niles, IL, July 2009
Specialty
Print Communications (SPC) continues to grow. In addition
to acquiring Michigan-based Batson Printing, an SPC Company,
earlier this year, SPC today announces that it has opened
a third facility dedicated solely to lettershop services.
The new location, at 6250 W. Howard Street is just one block
west of their corporate headquarters, in Niles, IL.
With
an investment in best-in-class equipment, technology, and
personnel, the initiative is a strategic move to better position
the family-owned and operated business to service end-user
clients and direct marketing specialists. Truman Pope, a
25-year industry veteran, will manage the lettershop division
as Vice President of Mail Operations. Truman comes to SPC
from World Marketing Chicago, where he was COO since October,
2004.
“Bringing lettershop services in-house provides greater
control, and quality assurances, while reducing time to market
and streamlining the entire process,” said Dustin LeFebvre,
Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for SPC.
“This customer driven expansion enables SPC to be a valuable,
single-source solution from DM concept to in-home delivery.”
The
new 73,000 square foot facility is ideal for data security, featuring
a restricted access, physically protected data room, server room
with interior facing walls, 24/7 digital security camera system
with rewrite and backup, keyless entry, and fiber optics throughout
the building. A dedicated generator for emergency backup ensures
that all data is secure from disasters and fire.
Capabilities
include sheetfed and roll to roll laser imaging, inkjet personalization,
multiple format inserting, matching capabilities, CD tipping,
and card affixing. Additional services include wafer sealing,
label-aire, hand work, and fulfillment. SPC will also be moving
its four-color variable digital department, featuring Kodak NexPress
technology, to the new lettershop facility.
Market
reception has been extremely positive, and the division is on
target to hit its fifth-year projection in its first full year
of operation. An industry open house is planned for the fall
of 2009.
